SHIELD Cases Win Red Dot Award 2024

FURCHTLOS has done it again!

The SHIELD Plastic Case Series has been selected as the Red Dot Design Award Winner 2024 for Vehicle Accessories Design.

On June 24, 2024, the FURCHTLOS Team was honored to attend the Red Dot Award Ceremony to receive the award and celebrate this recognition.

Founded in 1954 in Essen, Germany, the Red Dot Award has become internationally recognized as one of the most prestigious seals of exemplary design and innovation, with former winners including Apple, Ferrari and Ducati. 

We're proud to have our products selected as the Red Dot Award Winner for the 2nd consecutive year in a row – in 2023 for the RANGER Aluminum Case Family and in 2024 for the SHIELD Plastic Case Series – placing FURCHTLOS in the company of these elite brands and further cementing FURCHTLOS’s position as an innovation leader and brand-to-watch in the motorcycle accessories industry.

As its name implies, the FURCHTLOS brand was founded on a spirit of fearlessness. As motorcyclists, we’re FEARLESS to push the limits and overcome any challenges that we might encounter. As Product Designers, we apply that same philosophy to our Product Development Process, actively looking for opportunities to break through the limits of design and engineering and apply new technical innovations to improve the user experience.

The SHIELD Cases are a product of this design approach, encompassing a number of technical advancements within their sleek exterior surface.

Thanks to innovative material selection and sophisticated engineering techniques, the SHIELD cases are both more lightweight and more robust than comparable products on the market, offering both a better riding experience and better protection for items stored inside.

HIGH IMPACT RESISTANCE

Made with automotive-grade high strength polymers and an advanced structural geometry, the SHIELD cases are extremely impact resistant, withstanding forces of 50Gs in testing.

MAXIMUM CAPACITY

In contrast with the bulky mechanisms of the market standard, the patented locking and fixation mechanisms have been skillfully integrated within the slim body wall, simultaneously maximizing the interior storage capacity while maintaining a sleek exterior design.

OPTIMUM COMFORT

On the rear of the case, the self-blocking hinges connecting the lid and base have also been meticulously integrated within the case structure, creating a flush back surface that provides optimum comfort for the rear passenger.

HIGH END DESIGN

Encompassing these advanced technical features is a sleek exterior shell that incorporates cutting-edge automotive design technologies and high-end CMF finishings to give the SHIELD Cases a premium aesthetic that complements the latest 2-wheel vehicle styling.

Inspired by the latest automotive lighting trends, the reflector of the SHIELD cases is the first in the market to apply a parametric engraving on the inner surface, giving the reflector a more 3D effect and a high-end automotive feeling.

A parametric engraving was also applied to the color lid. In this case, a dual gloss and matte premium finishing creates a dynamic effect as the engraving reflects the sunlight.

On the interior, a removable automotive-grade felt lining provides an additional layer of protection for items placed within the case while simultaneously reducing noise and vibrations.

And on the exterior, luxury comfort backrests made of a soft-touch multi-density foam system provide both cushion and support for the rear passenger, ensuring the optimum comfort while riding, even for long durations.

With multiple volumes, colorways, and optional accessories, the SHIELD cases offer a high level of personalization, so each rider can configure the package that’s best for them.
